Anuga FoodTec 2015, the international trade fair for suppliers to the food and beverage industry, has set new attendance records reaching 45,000 visitors. This figure represents an increase of 6% compared to the 2012 of which 50% were international visitors. During the four days of the exhibition, attending experts gained valuable knowledge and insight into new developments and innovations offered by the industry.
The success of the exhibition was reflected at the Itram Hygiene stand where the overall exhibition assessment was a positive one. This, despite the sad and devastating news with with which they began their stay: the plane crash of Germanwings airlines took the lives of two of their friends and colleagues, Dora Salas and Marta Lopez. At first, Itram Hygiene doubted its tenure at Anuga FoodTec but in the memory of the professionalism of the two deceased who had worked so hard towards creating a great presence at this illustrious fair, a decision was made to stay on and thereby pay tribute to these two outstanding women.
In addition to its presence as an exhibitor, Itram Hygiene organized the Technical Symposium on “The Prevention, Monitoring and Removal of Biofilms,” which was addressed by internationally acclaimed specialists in the field of biofilms and food security.
Anuga FoodTec 2015 hosted 1,501 exhibitors from 49 countries covering an exhibition area of 121,000 sqm. 56% of the exhibitors came to Cologne from abroad. They received more than 45,000 trade visitors from 137 countries. The foreign share was above 50%. The next edition of Anuga FoodTec will take place from 20 to March 23, 2018.
